GENEVA, Ohio - Catholic senior
Emily Moehringer secured her fifth career All-America honor, placing seventh in the 1,500 on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Moehringer, already the lone multiple time All-American in program history, ran to the best finish of her career to become just the third woman in Catholic track & field history to place in the top-10 nationally and the second to do so at the Outdoor Championships.
The New York native clocked a time of 4:30.67, placing seventh and picking up two points for the Cardinals at the Championships. Moehringer came out of the gates fast, sitting in third after the first 700 meters before a strong finish kept her in the top eight to secure her first career First Team All-America honor. She now sits in rarefied air alongside Carolyn Hughes and Andrea Galeano for her exploits at the NCAA Championships, and sits alone in Catholic track history as a five-time honoree.
