Bredemann Named Rookie of the Year, Cardinals Grab Five All-Landmark Honors

| By:
TOWSON, Md. - Henley Bredemann was named Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year, making her the fourth player in program history to earn the honor. Bredemann leads a group of five Cardinals honored by the Landmark for their play during the 2025 season.

Bredemann was also named to the All-Landmark First Team as an attacker. She is joined on the first team by Jessie Lee and Lauren Bendo. Izzy Fiore and Caroline Gaines were named to the second team. Catholic has now had at least three first-team selections in all but two seasons since the Landmark Conference began.

Bredemann is Catholic's first Rookie of the Year in over a decade, joining Clair Schmitzer ('14), Lindsay Brophy ('12), and Mary Swarthout ('09) as the four first-year players honored by the conference. Catholic has five Rookie of the Year's in program history with Kate Robinson earning the accolade in 2007 in the Capital Athletic Conference.

The freshman from Daniel Island, S.C. leads Catholic with 40 goals this season. She is the first Cardinal since Nicolette Crisalli in 2015 to total 40 goals in their freshman campaign. Bredemann has also added six assists, 59 draw controls, 15 ground balls, and 11 caused turnovers.

Bredemann has 10 multi-goal performances this season, including four games with four or more goals. She scored a career-high six goals in a 16-11 win over Dickinson and five goals in an 11-5 win at Juniata. She also has six games this season with at least six draw controls, including eight versus Bates and at Juniata.

The versatile midfielder from West Hempstead, N.Y., Lee adds her first career first-team nod after being named to the second team a season ago. A stat sheet stuffer, Lee has scored 24 goals and handed out 24 assists, both career highs, while also winning 56 draw controls, picking up 33 ground balls, and causing 26 turnovers. Lee has been great down the stretch, scoring 15 goals and handing out nine assists in her last eight games. The senior moved into sixth-place in program history on Thursday with 196 draw controls.

Lee's classmate and fellow steadying veteran presence, Bendo picks up the third all-conference honor of her career and the second first-team nod. The defender from Garnet Valley, Pa. has taken over the control a young defense after the departure of All-American Rachel Rubenstein. Bendo has caused 22 turnovers, picked up 34 ground balls, won five draw controls, and scored a goal as a senior. She has caused 10 turnovers and picked up 15 ground balls in her last five games.

Fiore picks up an All-Landmark Second Team nod as an attacker after setting career-highs across the board in goals, assists, and points. The Chalfont, Pa. native is second on the team with 38 goals, and thanks to 12 assists leads the team with 50 points. She recently became the 32nd player in program history to cross the 100-point threshold, now sitting with 111, moving into the top-30 all-time. Fiore has 11 multi-goal games this season, including a seven-goal, one-assist effort at Moravian. She has 20 goals and seven assists in her last seven games.

Joining Fiore as a first-time honoree, is Gaines, a second-team defender from Baltimore, Md. Gaines is a constant on the Catholic defense, causing 19 turnovers, picking up 29 ground balls, and winning 24 draw controls for the Cardinals. Gaines caused multiple turnovers five times this season, including four in the season-opener against Salisbury. She added a six draw control day at Moravian and won five draw controls versus Franklin & Marshall.
