Lamaar Thomas Promoted to Full-Time Skill-Position Coach

| By:
WASHINGTON, D.C. - After completing two seasons as a part-time assistant helping with the wide receivers, Lamaar Thomas has been promoted to a full-time coach assisting with all skill position players.

Over the past two seasons, Thomas has helped guide a strong pass-catching group led by Preston Jeffrey ('23), Anthony Giordano, Malachi Hansen, and Andrew Tabor. Jeffrey was named an All-Landmark Conference receiver in 2023 while the trio of Giordano, Hansen, and Tabor combined for 102 catches and 13 touchdowns in 2024.

"Coach Thomas has been a tremendous addition to our staff, and his promotion this spring has pushed our offensive skill players to another level," said Vincent and Ellen Sica Endowed Head Coach Mike Gutelius. "His incredible ability - shown in his experience in college and the pros - has made him a coach who understands our guys' commitment."

A 2013 graduate of New Mexico by way of Ohio State, Thomas signed with the Denver Broncos after going undrafted. In October of 2013, Thomas signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad before earning his promotion to the active roster on December 20. Thomas made his career NFL catch on December 22 against the Tennessee Titans. Thomas spent time in his post-NFL days with the New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League.

"This spring has been a great example of Coach Thomas growing our receivers to a higher level," said Gutelius. "His strong push on the field shows how much he is working with our players off the field in film review as well. I am very excited to have Thomas even more connected with our squad."
