HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Catholic women's tennis competed against a tough Gettysburg team during day two of action at the Hilton Head Spring Tennis Fest. The Cardinals won two matches on the day, but ultimately fell 1-5. 

Meaghan Laniewski and Paige Brightwell combined at No. 3 doubles to picked up a 6-4 win. The pair started down 1-3, but was able to gain momentum as the match went on to rally for a comeback victory. The Bullets took 6-3 victories in the other two doubles matches to steal the opening point. 

Gettysburg was able to add another point to their total with a win at No. 2 singles before Shloka Tambat brought the Cardinals back within one. The freshman recorded Catholic's only singles win of the day with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 1. 

Laniewski continued to battle as she returned to the courts for a No. 3 singles match. The sophomore won the first set, 7-5, and dropped the second to force a third set tiebreak. Se was able to take three games in the final frame but came up just short of the win.

Catholic will wrap up its spring break trip with a match against East Stroudsburg tomorrow at 12:15 p.m.
