BLACKSBURG, Va. -
Christian Di Nicolantonio solidified his spot atop the Division III Indoor Pole Vault Performance list as he reached a new top height of 5.25 meters at the Doc Hale Meet hosted by Virginia Tech on Friday afternoon.
Di Nicolantonio's mark breaks his own school record, his own Landmark Conference record, and increases his lead atop the Division III ranks in 2025 while also moving into rarefied air in Division III history.
The senior pole vaulter becomes one of just 14 pole vaulters in Division III history to clear 5.25 meters (17 feet, 2 3/4 inches) and his jump is the highest at this level since Noah Zastrow hit 5.40 meters for UW-Stout in 2021. Di Nicolantonio finished sixth at the Division I meet and just nearly missed at 5.40 which would have tied him for the top mark in the Unseeded event.
Joining Di Nicolantonio with a record-breaking performance was
Emily Moehringer, who placed ninth in the 800 with a new top women's indoor mark of 2:11.34. Moehringer improved on her own program record by nearly a full second from last year's NCAA Championships.
Already in good shape for qualification for the 2025 championships, Moehringer came into the weekend 14th in the country with a time of 2:16.42. Her time of 2:11.34 places her in the top five nationally at the time of writing.
Finally,
Kendrick DuPree competed in the 800, just nearly missing out a new personal best as he ran a time of 1:56.75 to place 14th. His personal best of 1:56.29 ranks fifth in program history.
The Cardinals are back in action tomorrow split between Virginia Tech and the Blue & White Invitational at Franklin & Marshall.
