Cardinals Defeat Warriors; Set to Host Quarterfinals on Tuesday

WASHINGTON, D.C.
- Despite a late deficit, the 15th-ranked Catholic Cardinals held off Lycoming, 77-64, on Saturday afternoon after celebrating three seniors/graduates on Franny Murray Court.

Catholic trailed 51-44 after three quarters before a dominant final quarter saw the Cardinals outscore the Warriors 33-13. Keegan Douglas, Anna Scoblick, and Kerry Flaherty led the way offensively, scoring 21, 20, and 17 respectively. The three combined for 58 of the team's 77 points in the victory.

Lycoming led by as many as 10 after an Ashley Yoh layup with 17 seconds left in the third quarter to make it a 51-41 game. Flaherty fired from three off a Douglas feed with three ticks left on clock and found the net to pull the Cardinals within seven entering the final quarter.

With 8:10 remaining in the contest, Flaherty knocked down another shot from distance, pulling the Cardinals within one before Scoblick found Raquel Guidetti for the layup that gave Catholic the lead for good. Douglas hit a pair of free throws, followed by a Carly Mulvaney steal and layup to push the lead to five. Kami Abdo threatened once more for Lycoming with a three of her own, but Catholic scored 10 of the next 11 as Douglas and Flaherty both hit from deep to build the lead to 68-57 with 4:41 remaining. Flaherty's third triple of the quarter proved to be the dagger as she made it 71-60 with 3:57 left on the clock. Lycoming pulled within single digits once more with 1:53 to play, but the Cardinals scored the final four points to close out a 13-point victory.

Scoblick added six rebounds, three blocks, and two steals to her ledger to go with 20 points. The junior reached 875 career points and surpassed 500 career rebounds. With 21 points, Douglas logged her third 20-plus-point game of the season and the 10th of her career.
