Cardinals Celebrate Senior Day in Style; Win Big Over Warriors

WASHINGTON, D.C.
- Dominant from the jump, Catholic picked up a 91-60 victory over Lycoming on Saturday afternoon as it celebrated Senior Day on Franny Murray Court. The Cardinals finish the regular season 21-4 and 16-2 in the conference and will await their opponent in the Landmark Semifinals on Thursday.

Seniors Sean Neylon and Dan Buckley paced the Cardinals with a strong contribution from junior Brian Herbert as he re-entered the starting lineup on Saturday. Neylon finished with 23 points in just 24 minutes, hitting five triples for Catholic. Buckley had 15 points and four assists while Herbert added an efficient 16 points on five-of-six shooting.

It took less than 10 minutes for the Cardinals to build a lead in double figures as Herbert nailed a three and then knocked down a pair of free throws to take a 23-12 lead with 10:13 left on the first half clock. Lycoming pulled within five before a 7-0 spurt put the Cardinals back ahead by 12 as Buckley nailed a three off a feed from Charley Hepting. Catholic would end the half on an 11-1 run, taking a 46-27 lead into the break as Buckley scored just before the horn sounded.

The lead reached 20 for the first time on the first possession of the second half as Buckley scored just 10 seconds into the half. The Cardinals followed up their 46-point first half with a 45-point second half, building the lead to 26 with 7:32 to play as Neylon knocked down a three. With 4:05 to play, Cephas Wilson-Bahun pushed Catholic's advantage to 31 points, 84-53. Matthew Gorman gave the Cardinals their largest lead of the game, 35, with 2:08 to play before Lycoming scored the final four points of the contest.
