Chad Kratzer responded for Moravian, pushing the lead back to five with 5:03 to play, but a Buckley free throw at the 4:49 mark and another Neylon three with 3:58 to play pulled the Cardinals within one. Catholic tied the contest on a Brian Herbert free throw with 2:56 remaining, but a Marquis Ratcliff free throw put Moravian back ahead with 2:30 remaining.

The Cardinals would outscore the Greyhounds 12-8 in the extra five minutes, scoring the first six points as Buckley, Herbert, and Neylon all contributed to give Catholic a 72-66 lead. Moravian pulled within two, but Charley Hepting slammed home a feed from Herbert to push the lead back to four with 1:17 left. Leading by three, Hepting stepped to the line for a pair of free throws with nine seconds left, knocking them both in to make it 76-71.
