GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Catholic women's tennis team traveled for the final time in the fall season to take on Gettysburg on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals fell in a hard fought match, dropping it 4-3 to move to 3-3 during the fall season.
The Cardinals took the wins in the two and three doubles spots to claim the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead.
Meaghan Laniewski and
Ella Knox picked up the first win at number two taking a closely played set 7-5.
Annie Nemoy and
Marcela Peña picked up a win in the number three spot in convincing fashion, taking the set six games to two.
Nemoy played in a very competitive match at number one singles but was able to capture the first and third sets by scores of 7-5 and 7-6 to earn the Cardinals a point in that spot.
Ava Niggemeier earned the other point for Catholic in singles action as she took both of her sets by a score of 6-1.
Laniewski played in a very competitive three set match in number four singles but fell 2-1 dropping the second and third set 6-2 and 6-4.
