WASHINGTON, D.C. - Despite leading by as many as 16 points in the second half, Catholic (10-3, 5-1) fell in an overtime thriller to Drew (10-3, 6-0) on Saturday in the DuFour Center.
The Cardinals played a commanding first 20 minutes, hitting 47 percent of their shots as they built a 37-22 lead. With 11:13 left in the opening half,
Sean Neylon hit a three to push Catholic out to an early double figure lead. With 6:24 left in the half, Drew cut the deficit to seven, but
Dan Buckley immediately answered with a three to make it a 26-16 game with 5:09 to play in the first. A

The Catholic lead built up to its highest point with 10:59 to play as Buckley found
Jamie Ntiamoah for a layup after a

More than two minutes went by before the next basket, a Josh Kline three-pointer for the Rangers at the 0:57 mark, making it 60-55. The Cardinals turned it over, allowing Kline to knock down a pair of free throws after drawing a foul. Now 60-57, the Cardinals broke the pressure and
Ethan Hinds laid it in with 39 seconds left to push the advantage back to five. Kline was money from three again, knocking down a deep triple to make it 62-60 with 26 ticks left.
Green made one of his two free throw tries and the Rangers elected to attack the bucket as Higgins found an open driving lane to pull Drew within one with 11 seconds remaining. Neylon drew the foul this time and knocked down his free throws, putting Catholic up 65-62 with nine seconds remaining. After a timeout, Malcolm Newman found Yusavage who drained his fourth three of the half at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.
The Cardinals scored the first bucket of OT with 4:25 to play to take a 67-65 lead, but a Higgins three gave Drew the lead with 2:12 to play. The Cardinals pulled within two on two different instances, but the Rangers closed out a 76-71 victory in the extra frame.
