BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Catholic men's soccer team started off its conference schedule with a road match at Moravian, concluding its four-game road trip. After allowing a late first half goal, the Cardinals found an equalizer early in the second half to come away with a 1-1 draw.
After a stalemate throughout much of the first half, the Greyhounds were able to break through with a late goal in the half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Joey Roth received a pass from Rafai Sanjuan and Roth tucked it away to put Moravian up 1-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.
It would not take long into the second half for the Cardinals to find an equalizer as they found the back of the net under 10 minutes into the second half. Catholic leaned on its leading goal scorer
Holden Woodings who slotted one home to tie the match up at one.
The Cardinals generated many chances in the second half, out shooting the Greyhounds 10-4 in the second half but were unable to breakthrough and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Catholic out shot Moravian 17-12 in the match and put eight shots on goal to Moravian's six.
Woodings continues to pace the Cardinals in goals after his goal today. The junior transfer now has four goals on the season and ended a three-game scoring drought for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals return home after a four game road trip to take on Marymount (Va.) at Carlini Field. Kick off is set for 7 pm against the Saints and it will be Catholic's first home match since September 8.
