WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic football defensive coordinator
Brandon Beech has added Assistant Head Coach to his title for the 2024 season it was announced recently by Vincent and Ellen Sica Endowed Football Coach
Mike Gutelius.
"I'm very proud to give Coach Beech the title of Assistant Head Coach," said Gutelius. "His time at Catholic has been marked by education in the college game and incredible commitment to our university. We wouldn't have had the tremendous growth we've seen over the last six years without his selfless dedication and leadership. Coach Beech is a pillar in this program."
Beech was promoted to head the defense prior to the 2023 season and will once again add to his list of roles and responsibilities in 2024. Beech is entering his seventh year in the program and has been a constant presence within the staff during his time.
While in D.C., Beech has served various roles on the staff, coaching the defensive backs, the defensive line, and the offensive line before taking over the defense after Kevin Hubbard's departure in the spring of 2023.
Under Beech's leadership in 2023, three Cardinal defenders earned All-Landmark Conference honors. Rising senior safety
Mason Stillwell earned first team honors while linebackers
Carson Henry and
Michael Hopkins also garnered recognition. The Cardinals held their opponents to 20 points or less in five of the team's 10 contests last season.
