Casey Burford Hired to Head Volleyball Program

| By:
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University will welcome Casey Burford as its next head volleyball coach effective August 5. Burford will become Catholic's third head volleyball coach in the past 30 years.

"We couldn't be more excited to bring Casey Burford on as our next Head Volleyball Coach," said Director of Athletics/Associate VP Kevin Robinson. "It was evident from the time she stepped on campus that she has great passion and joy for the game as well as a genuine care for the growth of our student-athletes. Her energy will be infectious in our department!"

Burford has spent much of the last decade coaching collegiate volleyball, splitting her time between Division I and Division III programs. After an impressive playing career that saw her named NJAC Defensive Player of the Year at Rowan, Burford served as the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach from 2015-2017. In 2017, Burford moved to the Division I level, serving as an assistant at Delaware State for the 2017 season.

After moving out of collegiate volleyball to work as a Senior Admissions Recruitment Manager at 2U Inc., Burford returned to coaching in 2021, spending two seasons as a part-time assistant with the Goucher volleyball program.

Between 2010 and 2018, Burford also coached club volleyball with Mystique Volleyball Club, Frostburg Volleyball Club, and Delaware Juniors Volleyball Club.

Burford will inherit a program that reached the 20-win plateau in 2023 for the first time since 2016.
