Condello Promoted to Head Athletic Trainer

| By:
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic Athletics is excited to announce Assistant Athletic Trainer Emily Condello's promotion to Head Athletic Trainer.

The Ithaca ('20) graduate will take the reigns of the athletic training staff as she enters her third year at Catholic University after coming on board in the fall of 2022.

"I am excited for Emily to take on this very important leadership position in our department as she has shown growth in her time working with our student-athletes," said Associate AD and Health Care Administrator Jaime Walls.

As the Head Athletic Trainer, Condello's roles will include supervision of the athletic training staff, scheduling and coordination of medical care coverage and budget oversight. She will also serve as the campus liaison for student-athlete healthcare, assist with development and education of Emergency Action Plans, concussion and mental health protocols, and the education of those protocols to the AT staff and coaches.

"Emily's empathy and ability to handle and think through stressful situations in a way that always benefits our student-athletes will serve her well in her new role," said Walls. "I look forward to working with her to elevate our sports medicine department and the care we can provide our athletes."

Prior to coming to D.C., Condello earned her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Mercyhurst. She worked for two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with Mercyhurst serving the women's basketball, field hockey, and softball teams as well as the Division I women's ice hockey program.
