Cody Bosak and
Cormac Terry combined to strike out 11 batters in a 6-1 victory over Susquehanna to keep Catholic's Landmark Tournament run alive. The Cardinals will take on Elizabethtown at 6 p.m. tonight in another elimination game.
Logan Eilbacher went 3-3 to lead the Catholic offense as they logged 10 hits and four doubles in the victory.
Zach Burton and
Mitchel Johnson each had multi-hit days as they joined Eilbacher to drive in four of Catholic's six runs.
Bosk tossed 6.0 scoreless innings, striking out six while allowing just five hits to earn the victory. Terry tossed the final 3.0 innings, striking out five to earn his third save of the season.
Catholic took a 1-0 lead in the fourth as
Derek Zelesnick singled to right, scoring Eilbacher. The lead swelled to 4-0 after a three-run fifth inning for the Cardinals. Burton doubled to score
Steve Thomas before
Sammy Burman drove him in with a double. Eilbacher singled to score Burman to make it 4-0 in favor of Catholic.
The Cardinals scored two more insurance runs in the seventh as Burton singled to score
Matt Perlin before a Johnson RBI double made it 6-0. Tony Rossi homered to score the lone River Hawk run.
The winner of Catholic versus Elizabethtown will advance to take on Scranton on Sunday.
