Seniors Standout in Catholic's 83-74 Road Win at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Four Cardinals scored in double figures as Catholic improved to 7-2 on the season with an 83-74 victory at Moravian on Saturday afternoon. The veteran group of Enzo Sechi, Tommy Kelly, Jesse Hafemeister, and Jake Timby combined for 65 of the team's 83 points.

The Cardinals led by 12 with 11:08 remaining after a fast-break layup from Kelly, but the Greyhounds made it a game, tying the contest at 62 with 7:55 left. Tied once more at 64 just 33 seconds later, Catholic outscored Moravian 19-10 over the final seven minutes of the contest to earn a nine-point road victory. Sechi converted a pair of free throws to give Aaron Kelly's side the lead with 6:51 to play and the Cardinals held the lead the rest of the way.

Sechi and Kelly combined for the next 11 Cardinal points as the lead grew to 75-65 after two more Sechi free throws with 2:36 to go. Catholic would make all eight of its free throw attempts over the final 2:05 to ice away the game as Kelly and Timby were both nails from the line. Timby went 6-6 from the line down the stretch for Catholic.

Despite tying it multiple times in the second half, Moravian never led after the 15:19 mark of the first half as Marquis Ratcliff put the Greyhounds ahead 13-12. Brian Herbert drained a three 11 seconds later and the Greyhounds were never able to retake the lead in the contest.

Sechi had 20 points and six boards in the contest, marking his second 20-point game of the season for Catholic. Kelly added 18 points, four rebounds, and four assists, going over 800 points for his Cardinal career. Hafemeister chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds, moving up one spot to 32nd all-time with 1,124 career points. Timby added 12 points, reaching double figures for the second time this season. Dan Buckley continues to prove his merit as an outstanding rebounding guard, as the junior pulled in a team-high 11 rebounds while scoring three points and blocking three shots.

Catholic's 14 offensive rebounds were the second-most in a game this season while eight turnovers marked the fourth time this year that the Cardinals turned it over less than 10 times. Ratcliff led Moravian with 26 points and 14 rebounds as the Greyhounds hit 11 threes and shot 42 percent from deep in a losing effort.

The Cardinals will be off for 10 days before welcoming Wabash to D.C. on the first day of the Holiday Tournament on December 19.
