Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Catholic University women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Moravian to remain in the hunt for a spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament. Saturday's draw is the fifth of the season for the Cardinals and the fourth for freshman Ava Rieger who made three saves in the contest.
The Cardinals put six shots on target against a pair of Moravian goalkeepers, but each made three saves to keep the Cards out of the net. Ava Gregorio put a shot on target less than two minutes into the game, forcing Moravian starter Payce Korpics to make a save. The next shot on target didn't come until the 28th minute as Jordan Siok headed it towards net, but Korpics was there to make another save. Korpics third and final save of the half came in the 40th minute as Mattigan DiBease put one on target.
Rieger made saves in the 56th and 70th minutes to keep the Greyhounds off the scoresheet and keep it a 0-0 contest. Liz Gorman and Sara Placide challenged new keeper Paige Harrison in the 77th and 78th minutes, but the keeper made both saves. Gregorio's second shot on goal came in the 89th minute, but Harrison made her third and final save.
Rieger was called upon one final time, making a save with less than 30 seconds remaining to preserve the fourth shutout of the season for the Cardinals.
