Box Score GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Catholic University men's soccer team fell to the regionally-ranked Bullets of Gettysburg College, 2-1, on Wednesday at Clark Field.
Senior Paul Egan got the scoring started early, as the midfielder scored his second goal of the season in the 13th minute. Egan found his own rebound after a run to put the Cardinals (8-6-2) up 1-0 early.
However, just five and half minutes later, the Bullets (11-3-2) evened the score as Aidan Muller headed the ball in off of a throw in.
Both teams took five shots in the first half and both goalies made one save in a statistically even match-up. Junior Troy Young was in goal for Catholic, making three saves on the night.
Gettysburg held the Cardinals to just three shots in the second half until Connor Fife scored on another header in the 81st minute to lift the Bullets.
Catholic will conclude the regular season on the road at Juniata on Saturday, Oct. 30. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
