WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University men's soccer senior Ryan Kennedy scored his second goal of the season just 11 minutes into the game as the No. 21 Cardinals posted a 3-0 Landmark Conference victory over Goucher Wednesday at Carlini Field.

Catholic (14-2-1, 5-0-0 LC) posted its 11th shutout of the season and extended its conference unbeaten streak to 10 and its home unbeaten streak to eight. The Cards are 12-2-2 at home the last two seasons, including 7-1-1 at Carlini Field.

Both of Kennedy's two career goals have come this season and both have been game-winners. He also scored the game-winning goal in Catholic's 2-1 win at Scranton on Sept. 28.

Sophomore Darius Siahpoosh picked up his team-leading seventh assist on Kennedy's goal and he now has a point in four of the team's last five games.

Sophomore Ben Alexander doubled the team's lead in the 23rd minute with his team-leading 12th goal of the season off an assist from senior Mike Narzikul. Alexander has scored a goal in 10 of his 16 games played this season. His 12 goals are the most by a Cardinal since Mike Brennan had 13 in 2011. Alexander is also just three points shy of Brennan's 29 that year.

Freshman Jacob McDonald scored the team's third goal in the 66th minute, his third of the season, to provide the final margin. Senior Mitch Ford picked up the assist for the defender's first career point in 59 career games.

Catholic outshot the Gophers 17-2 as junior Jack Long was not required to make a save while recording his eighth shutout of the season and the 15th of his career.

The Cardinals host a Landmark Conference contest versus Moravian on Saturday for Senior Day. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. Prior to the game, the team will honor its six seniors in Kennedy, Narzikul, Ford, Tim Figueroa, Andrew Laurenzano and Bradley Pierro.
