Cardinals Drop Midweek Road Match at St. Mary's (Md.)

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - The Catholic University men's soccer team outshot St. Mary's (Md.), 14-13, on Tuesday, but fell to the Seahawks on the road at Seahawk Stadium, 4-0.

The Cardinals (4-5) forced St. Mary's keeper Patrick Paolini to make seven saves. Junior Andrew Laurenzano led the way with two shots on goal while Nelson Zimmerman, Corbin Brailsford and Aaron Boyle each had one.

St. Mary's (8-1-2) struck first early in the eighth minute, and added two more first half goals to go up 3-0 lead at the half. 

Freshman goalkeeper Tannor Portland got his first career action, playing 26 minutes in net. Classmate Logan Brown also made his collegiate debut in the match. 

The Cardinals return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 6 for a 1 p.m., match at Landmark Conference foe Susquehanna.
