Box Score WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America men’s soccer team dropped its midweek match to Randolph-Macon College, 1-0, in double overtime on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals, now 2-3-3 overall, played the undefeated Yellow Jackets scoreless through the 108th minute. With just two-minute remaining in the second overtime period, the Yellow Jackets took advantage of a free kick opportunity and headed the ball into the back of the net.
During the match, Catholic senior Heston Priestley and junior Brian Galfond took three shots apiece to contribute to the Cardinals' final tally of 11 shots. Fellow junior Tyler Martin served all five of Catholic’s corner kick opportunities.
Junior Ryan Cassidy earned his second career start and came up with five big saves throughout the game.
The Cardinals return home to open Landmark Conference play versus Susquehanna University at 3:30 p.m., on Saturday, September 23.
