Box Score WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America men’s soccer team fell to Landmark foe, undefeated, No. 20 Drew University on Saturday afternoon, 1-0.
The Cardinals held their nationally ranked opponent scoreless through 64 minutes of play and collected a 12-9 shooting advantage throughout the contest.
Senior Patrick Mogan led the flock with five shots while classmate Heston Priestley took two.
Catholic started strong with a shot on goal on goal in the opening two minutes from senior Jack Traxler and two corner kick opportunities in the first 17 minutes. The Cardinals final shot of goal of the day came in the 68th minutes by sophomore Mike Narzikul.
Catholic saw its last opportunity of the day on a shot from Mogan in the 87th minutes but was blocked by a Drew defender to capture the league victory.
Prior to the game, the Catholic men’s soccer Class of 2017 including Mogan, Traxler and Priestley along with their classmates Nick Joesten and Matthew Holtschneider were recognized for their four years of dedication to the program.
The Cardinals are set to host Gettysburg on Tuesday, October 24, at 4 p.m., before heading to the University of Scranton on Saturday, October 28 to close out their regular season.
