Box Score WASHINGTON - The Catholic University of America men's soccer team dropped their second Landmark Conference match of the season on Wednesday, 2-0 to Goucher College.
Catholic and Goucher each took nine shots during the contest with the Gophers putting six on target and capitalizing on two opportunities.
The Gopher's first score came in the 15th minute of play when freshman Brandon Cohen took a shot off a pass from sophomore Mario Murica. They struck again with their insurance goal in the 72nd minute. Goucher freshman Moibanda Rogers sent a pass to sophomore Sam Capalbo to complete the 2-0 victory.
Catholic freshman Mike Narzikul took two shots, both on goal, throughout the match. Senior Zachery Tashjy made four saves guarding the net for the Cardinals.
The loss drops the Cardinals 5-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the conference while the Gophers advance to a 6-2-4 record and 1-1-1 in the Landmark.
Catholic will continue conference play, hosting the Blue Jays of Elizabethtown on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 3:30 p.m.
