Box Score St. Mary's, Md. - The Catholic University of America men's soccer finished in a 2-2 draw after 110 minutes of play at St. Mary's College on Tuesday afternoon. The Cards move to a 2-5-1 record while the Seahawks move to 3-3-1 in 2015.
The Seahawks struck first in the first minute of the game and notched a second goal at the 24 minute mark. The Cards got their break when the Seahawks gave up an own goal in the 33rd minute and the score board read 2-1 in favor of St. Mary's heading into the halftime break.
Catholic tied up the game in the 62nd minute when Senior Josh Barrett sent the ball to sophomore Heston Priestley who fired it past the St. Mary's Goal keeper.
The Cardinals and Seahawks battled through 20 minutes of overtime, but neither team was able to put the ball in the net, ending the 110 minute game in a 2-2 tie.
Senior Tyler Zimmerman took three shots for the Catholic offense with sophomore Nick Joesten and freshman Brian Galfond each taking two.
Zachery Tashjy spent 80 minutes between the posts for the Cardinals, making 6 saves, while Steven Lukas played 30 minutes in the net with one save.
CUA will continue conference play at home, Saturday, Sept. 26 versus Moravian at 3:30 p.m. at CUA Soccer Field.
