Box Score Carlisle, Pa. - After a scoreless first half The Catholic University of America men's soccer team let in two late goals, dropping its season opener on the road to Dickinson College on Tuesday night.
Six of the Cardinals nine attempts in the match were right on target, but they proved unable to convert a goal against the Red Devils keeper. Cardinal senior Alex Laprade led the team's offensive efforts with four shots, two on goal. Senior Josh Barrett registered a shot on goal along with junior Sean Adams, sophomore Heston Priestley, and freshman Brian Galfond.
Both Dickinson goals came in the second half, the first in the 58th minute from senior Alfred Hylton-Dei off a pass from fellow senior Jonathan Harper. Six minutes later, the Red Devils notched an insurance goal with an unassisted shot from sophomore Lucas Masiado.
Catholic senior goalie Steven Lukas played a full 90 minutes between the posts, registering seven saves for the evening.
The Cardinals will return to the nation's captial for their home opener as they host the second annual Tuck D.C. Classic over Labor Day Weekend. CUA will take on Richard Stockon College Friday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m., and will match up against Berry College at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5 at CUA Soccer Field.
