Box Score WASHINGTON – The women's soccer team of The Catholic University of America topped Moravian College in a 1-0 Landmark Conference victory on Saturday afternoon. The win advances Catholic to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference as Moravian drops to 2-6-1, 0-2.
Senior Kelly Henderson notched the Cardinal's game winning goal just before the halftime intermission (42:09). With the ball deep onto the 18-yard box, just left of the six-yard box, sophomore Andrea Jablonskyj made a short pass inside to Henderson who chipped the ball past the Moravian keeper.
The Cardinals outshot the Greyhounds 9-5 with junior Jennifer Delasco and freshman Jillian Sudo each taking two. Senior Lexi Halperin made two saves throughout the competition.
Catholic will take a midweek bye, returning to play on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they take on Landmark opponent Drew University at 3:30 p.m., at CUA Soccer Field.
