WASHINGTON- The CUA men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Moravian Greyhounds on Saturday, September 27, ending their three-game winning streak with their first conference loss of the season in Bethlehem, Pa.

The game was evenly matched in the first half, as both teams created continuous scoring opportunities. Catholic appeared led offensively with six shots and two corners, but proved unable to finish into the net.

Moravian came out strong in the second half, scoring the lone goal of the game in the 49th minute of play. Ryan Bartel headed the ball into the net, off an assist from Ian Larimer.

The Cardinals' defense held off the pressing Greyhounds for the remainder of the game, keeping their opponent's lead to one. Catholic's starting goalie Torsten Meuschke made two saves in the outing.

The loss gives the CUA men's team a 4-5-0 (1-1 Landmark Conference) overall record. The team will next host Salisbury on Wednesday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m. on the CUA Soccer Field.
