WASHINGTON – After falling in extra innings during game one of CUA's doubleheader against Franklin & Marshall, solid pitching from Kevin Farley led to a 3-0 win game two on Sunday at Gallaudet's Hoy Field.

Franklin & Marshall was unable to reach home plate with Farley holding down the mound in all seven innings of play.

CUA took the lead in the third inning of the contest, as the Cards scored on two runs on a single by Stefan Poggioli.  On a sacrifice fly by Eric Scamardella, John Palladino scored for a 3-0 Catholic lead.

In the opening contest, CUA could not hold on to an early 2-0 lead and dropped a 4-2 decision in 10 innings of play.

The Cards took an early 1-0 lead at the bottom of the first and then extended the lead 2-0 in the bottom of the second.  The Diplomats evened the score at the top of the fourth to level the contest 2-2.

Both squads went scoreless over the next five innings before F&M scored two unanswered runs at the top of the 10th and secure the win 4-2.
