Newport News, Va.-Being outshot 17-3 and allowing only three goals, Marian Cassilly (Gambrills, Md./Archbishop Spalding) recorded 11 saves in 70 minutes of work for the Cardinals. 

CUA was held to no shots in the first half, and managed only three in the second half, including Carley Walko's (Freehold, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) unassisted goal in the 46th minute.  Walko along with Liz McCormick (Broomhall, Pa./Country Day Sacred Heart) recorded the only shots on net for the Cardinals.

CUA will return to action Wednesday, October 1st at 4:30 with a non-conference matchup against St. Mary's (Md.) before welcoming Juniata to Cardinal Stadium on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.to open the 2008 Landmark Conference schedule.
