Matejka Abeita joined the Catholic University Sports Medicine staff on August 4, 2025 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.
Abeita was a 2023 graduate of Lakeland University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and 2025 graduate with her Master of Science in Athletic Training at Marquette.
During her time as a student, she worked with both the University of Notre Dame Sports Medicine and Marquette University Sports Medicine programs during her time as a student at Marquette. While with Marquette, she worked with Marquette's women's volleyball, men's lacrosse, men's basketball, and men's and women's tennis programs.
More recently, she worked primarily with the Notre Dame men's lacrosse, performing and aiding in injury evaluation, rehabilitation, decision making, and referrals.
As an undergraduate, Abeita was a member of the Lakeland women's volleyball team while also working as an Athletic Training Student as a senior.
