Coach Solomon began coaching the Catholic Men's rugby team in 2009. Prior to coming on board at the Catholic University of America he coached senior men's rugby with the Washington Irish rugby team. Coach Solomon has led Catholic to 7 conference championships and finished 4 times as conference runner-up. In the last decade, Coach Solomon has guided Catholic University into the national playoffs every year, reaching the round of 16 eight times, logged six national quarterfinal appearances, and twice steered Catholic into the national semi-finals.
During his tenure with Catholic University, Coach Solomon has mentored multiple National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) All-Americans and Academic All-Americans. Catholic players have also been involved in Major League Rugby (MLR) academy teams. Coach Solomon has been a staff member of the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate All-Stars for the past five years and was an assistant coach with the NCR Atlantic Coast All Stars during their tour to Bordeaux, France. Coach Solomon was a former member of the Mid-Atlantic men’s competition committee and the NCR Region 2 competition committee. He holds a Level 1 coaching certification from WorldRugby.
As a player, Coach Solomon first played for the Colorado Springs Grizzlies High School and Men's teams, moved onto the Denver Highlanders and finished his playing career with the Washington Irish. He also played with Vandals Invitational side and played representative rugby for the Potomac Rugby Union at u19, u23 and senior levels, as well as U23 for the Eastern Rugby Union.
Coach Solomon lives in Washington D.C with his wife Rachel.
