George Bauman joined Catholic University in July, 2023 as the Director of Fitness, Recreational Sports and Wellness.
In his role, Bauman oversees the Kane Fitness Center, intramural sports program, Cardinal Adventures, and fitness programming which serve the entire CUA community. Bauman is also an advisor for all of the club sport teams on campus, and our esports program, including the oversight of the esports lounge located in the Pryzbyla Center.
Prior to coming to CUA, Bauman spent 5 years working at The George Washington University as the Intramural Sports Coordinator, and then as the Club Sports Manager, overseeing 40+ club sports, and helping 5 of them transition from varsity to club status.
Bauman earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Oakland University in 2015. He then managed a Waffle House for a year in Fort Myers, FL, before returning to school to receive his Master's in Higher Education and Leadership from Valdosta State University in 2018. While there Bauman served as a Graduate Assistant for the recreational sports program.
