Aldara Gonzalez Riano is from Gijón, Spain, and joins The Catholic University of America as the Swimming & Diving Graduate Assistant in 2025. She will pursue a Master of Science in Business Analytics.
After a competitive swimming career in Spain, she came to the U.S. to swim for the University of the Cumberlands, where she specialized in distance freestyle and butterfly. During her collegiate career, she earned MSC Third Team All-Conference honors in both seasons, was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, and received Academic All-Conference recognition twice.
She placed third in the 1650 freestyle at the Mid-South Conference Championships two years in a row and holds top-10 program times in both the 1000 and 1650 free events.
