As a Freshman (2025): Appeared in seven games in relief for a total of seven innings pitched with 10 strikeouts on the mound.....Made his collegiate debut on Mar. 1, tossing a shutout inning with two strikeouts versus RPI...Pitched 1.1 shutout innings against #11 Kean on Mar. 12...Struck out four batters over 1.2 shutout innings against Moravian on Mar. 15...Allowed just one unearned run over 1.1 innings with three strikeouts on Mar. 22 at Juniata.

Prior to Catholic: Played baseball at Phillips Exeter Academy (PEA) and Chaparral High School...In his senior year at PEA, he earned an All-CNEPSBL All-Star selection in 2024, as a two-way pitcher and first baseman. On the mound (30 innings pitched, 37 K's and a team-low 2.10 ERA) and as a hitter. (265 average, with team leadership in RBIs, slugging % and HRs).

Personal: Son of Paul and Kristin Penney...Has one brother, Ryan, who's currently a freshman pitcher at Princeton...His father, Paul played baseball at Santa Clara...His uncle, Jon played baseball at Catholic...His cousin, Jack was drafted to the Detroit Tigers after playing at Notre Dame...He and his brother Ryan co-founded The Home2First Foundation, which enables financially challenged kids in the Dominican Republic and Arizona to learn, play and love the great game of baseball....Home2First has completed four humanitarian trips to the Dominican Republic and started a youth baseball league in East Phoenix that is partnered with the Arizona Diamondbacks / MLB RBI Baseball.
