Richard Bausch '79 - Men's Tennis
A four-year starter for the CUA tennis team, Bausch had a fabulous junior season, beating the #1 players from American University, Towson, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, George Washington, Mount St. Mary's, and Villanova. He was selected to play in the Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Championship, where he reached the quarterfinals. He was also selected as Captain by his teammates in his junior and senior year, and named the CUA tennis team's Most Valuable Player during his sophomore, junior, and senior years. 


Jack Gardner '63 - Men's Swimming & Diving Coach
After his first year as coach, when CUA went 7-6, Coach Gardner's teams won six Mason-Dixon Conference Championships over the next 10 years. His 19 team went undefeated with a 15-0 record and won his first Mason-Sixon Championship. The team followed up with a 13-2 record in 1965 and 11-2 in 1966. Over his 11 years at CUA, Gardner's record was 120 wins and 36 losses. He coached six All-Americans, including CUA hall of famer Keats Baugher, a national record holder and a three-time All-American and national champion.
 

Williams Leahy '64 - Men's Basketball
Leahy led CUA to four winning seasons, including a Mason-Dixon Conference Championship and appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament in 1964. Although he is the ninth-leading scorer in CUA history with 1,337 points, his forte was rebounding, in which he holds the following CUA records: the highest single-season total--449; the highest per-game average in a single season-- 16.6; the highest number in a single contest--27 vs. Southern Connecticut in 1963; and the highest career total--1,130. In 1964, he was named to the NCAA Regional Tournament First Team and the All-American Division II Second Team. He won the university's coveted Harris Cup in 1964 as CUA's "Outstanding Gentleman, Scholar, and Athlete."
 

Lisa Doolan '86 - Women's Basketball
An NCAA Division III All-American in 1986, Kellaher is the leading scorer in CUA women's basketball history. She also holds the record for the most free throws made in one game--18-- and hols the all-time field goal record per season--242. Kellaher led CUA to three winning seasons and to the Franklin & Marshall Tournament Championship and the CUA Invitational Championship her senior year. She scored 25 points as CUA stunned the defending national champions, Scranton University, for a 74-71 win that year. The Washington (D.C.) Archdiocese CYO named her its 1986 College Player of the Year.
 

Michael Tryon '82 – Baseball
A catcher, Tryon led CUA to four winning seasons. His freshman year, Tryon hit .414, .357 his junior season, and led the team in batting average, hits and doubles. Senior year, he hit .425 and set the CUA record for hits--51. In the 1982 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, Tryon hit a 400-foot home run in the 11th inning to beat Old Dominion University and send CUA to the finals. In 1982, he was named to the NCAA Division I Eastern Regional First Team and honored as ECAC Player of the Year. He was drafted by and played with the Minnesota Twins organization for two seasons.
