Jack Bruen '72 - Men's Basketball, Men's Basketball Coach
Jack Bruen was a four-year member of the basketball team during his time at CUA. He then coached basketball at CUA for seven seasons from 1982-89. Bruen was the third-winningest coach, and compiled the second-highest winning percentage in school history at .604. In his first season as coach, Bruen led Catholic to its first winning season in 12 years, including an upset of No. 1 Roanoke. Under his leadership, Catholic won six tournament championships, including the 1986 ECAC South Region Tournament. The 1985-86 team enjoyed the first national ranking (No. 16) in school history. As a player for Catholic, Bruen was a three-year starting point guard and two-time captain. Bruen set school records for most assists in a season and the best season assist average. He is ranked fourth all-time in career assists (503), second in career assist average (7.1) and has the second-most assists in a single game (17).
 

Carolyn Hughes '84 - Women's Cross Country, Women's Track & Field
Carolyn Hughes Brady was a four-year member of the track and cross country team for Catholic from 1979-83. She was named All-American in track in 1981 and 1982, becoming the first female athlete at Catholic to earn such a distinction. In 1982, she made history again by becoming the first Catholic U. woman to win a national championship. Brady won the national title in the 800 meter outdoor event and still holds school records for the 800 and 1500 meter races. She also distinguished herself in cross country, winning the 1982 NCAA Regional co-championship with teammate Louise Mallet. That helped lead the team to the school's first NCAA Regional title and the team's first appearance in the national meet, where the team placed 11th.

 
Stephan Fay '75 – Baseball
Stephan Fay was a four-year member of the baseball team at Catholic from 1972-75, leading a pitching staff that compiled more than 75 wins during that stretch. Steve was named to the All-Mason-Dixon Conference Team in 1973 and 1974. In 1975, he led Catholic to a team record of 30 wins, including the Metropolitan League Championship.
 

Glenn Kolonics '78 - Men's Basketball
Glenn Kolonics played basketball for four seasons at Catholic, including the 1976-77 season when the team made the transition to Division I play. A consistent standout, Kolonics set six school records and still holds four, including total points scored in a season (720), top scoring average for a season (27.7), most field goals (275) and career scoring average (22.4). In 1976, Kolonics was the fourth-leading Division II scorer in the nation and was named third-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. His career 2,192 point total is the second-highest in school history.
 

Donald Mudd '59 - Men's Swimming & Diving
A versatile all-around swimer, Donald Mudd was Mason-Dixon Conference champion in the butterly, a mainstay of the freestyle and medley relay teams, and a consistent performer in the freestyle at any distance. Mudd served as captain of the swim team, and held the school record in the 220-yard freestyle as well as the pool record for the butterfly leg of the 400-yard medley relay team. As anchor man for the 400 freestyle relay, Mudd ensured many Catholic U. victories in the event. Catholic won the Mason-Dixon championships in three of his four years on the team.
