Eugene Augusterfer '34 - Football, Men's Basketball, Boxing, Men's Track & Field
Augusterfer was one of the most prominent athletes of his day, a member of the football team under Head Coach Arthur "Dutch" Bergman and serving as captain of the basketball team before being signed by and playing with the Pittsburgh Pirates of the National Football League for the 1935 season. Bergman praised Augusterfer as one of the best blocking backs in his time with the program. He was a four-year member of the football and basketball team. He also participated in boxing and baseball.

Henry Brostek '42 – Football
Brostek was elected captain of the 1940 football team by his peers and teammates in the 1940 Sun Bowl. The fullback had the game of his career in November 1940 with two touchdowns against Hardin-Simmons. His exceptional "linebasting" and outstanding running abilities helped the Cardinals score numerous touchdowns. He was a four-year member of the football team.

Forest Cotton - Football Coach, Men's Basketball Coach
Cotton joined the CUA coaching staff in 1930. Assistant football coach under the leadership of "Dutch" Bergman, Cotton helped coach the 1936 Orange Bowl team. During the winter months, Cotton coached the basketball team, and is still the sixth-winningest basketball coach of all time. It was said that no one was better liked than Coach Cotton.

William Ennis '69 - Men's Cross Country, Men's Track & Field
A member of the 1969 NCAA All-American track team, Ennis was the first at Catholic to be named All-American all four years. The four members of the team were inducted as a group. The other members of the team: Rev. Albert MacPherson, Baldwin Hurns and Tom Fitzpatrick.
Thomas Fitzpatrick '69 - Men's Track & Field
Fitzpatrick was a four-year track star and All-American in the mile relay in 1969. The four members of the team were inducted as a group. The other members of the team: William J. Ennis, Baldwin Hurns and Rev. Albert MacPherson.
Eugene Horan '64 - Men's Basketball, Baseball
Horan was a true star on the basketball court and is still fourth all-time in Catholic University history in career points scored with 1,788. He was twice named small college All-American in basketball and three times made the All-Mason Dixon Conference team. Horan later received professional tryouts with the Detroit Pistons and Syracuse Nationals in basketball and the Baltimore Colts of the American Football League. He also received three pro baseball contract offers. Horan was a four-year member on the basketball and baseball team.

Ralph Hubert '50 - Football, Wrestling
Hubert was considered one of the finest blocking backs during his four years on the varsity football team. Although he was a hard runner and an outstanding quarterback, football was not Whitey's only claim to athletic fame at Catholic. He was best known as the 175-pound man on the wrestling team. His junior year, Whitey earned the title of Mason-Dixon Conference champion in his weight class and became team captain his senior year. He later coached the Catholic wrestling team.

Baldwin Hurns '72 - Men's Track & Field
Hurns was a four-year track star and All-American in the mile relay in 1969. Hurns ran the second leg on the team that finished third in the nation at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The four members of the team were inducted as a group. The other members of the team: William J. Ennis, Tom Fitzpatrick and Rev. Albert MacPherson. He also consistently won the 400 meter hurdles through his collegeiate career.

Albert MacPherson '69 - Men's Cross Country, Men's Track & Field
An All-American in the mile relay in 1969, MacPherson ran on the team that finished third in the nation at Cobo Hall in Detroit. The four members of the team were inducted as a group. The other members of the team: William Ennis, Baldwin Hurns and Tom Fitzpatrick.

John Madison '59 - Men's Cross Country, Men's Track & Field
A track phenomenon in the late '50s, Madison was one of the earliest black athletes to win fame for the Cardinals. A member of the track team for four years, he ran cross country for three years, consistently placing first or second on the 440-yard, one mile, and two mile relay teams. "Gentle" John was also a member of the fastest indoor mile relay team in school history, with a time of 3:25.4. While running cross country, Madison broke the Gallaudet course record of 18:06 by more than a minute, setting it at 17:01.8. He placed first at the Mason-Dixon cross country championhsips in his senior year. Madison was a four-year member of the track and cross country team.

Barbara McGaffigan '77 - Women's Tennis, Women's Swimming & Diving
McGaffigan played on Catholic's tennis team for four years, reaching No. 1 seed her sophomore season. McGaffigan was the only scholarship player her senior year and finished second at the Division II nationals. She swam for two years and coached the team her junior and senior years. McGaffigan was a four-year member of the tennis and swim team.
Walter Pipp '13 – Baseball
Pipp was a four-year member of the baseball team and left CUA in 1913 to sign with the Detroit Tigers, but his fate was sealed in history in 1915 when he was traded to the New York Yankees. Pipp held the record for consecutive games played before he was displaced by future Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig. Pipp's lifetime major league numbers included a .281 batting average, with 1,941 hits, 90 homers and 996 RBI.Â
