David Bernstein '40 – Boxing
Bernstein was a four-year member of the boxing team. He co-captained the 1939 boxing team along with Fred Stant. Bernstein was the national champion in the 112-pound weight class in 1938. 

 
Joseph Bunsa '40 - Football, Boxing
Bunsa was a four-year member of the football and boxing team. He advanced to the 1939 national boxing semifinals but suffered a one-point loss. Bunsa also played end on the 1940 Sun Bowl team. Bunsa made Bob Ripley's Believe it or Not newspaper column by recording three knockouts in one match against Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon). He was named to the Boxing Hall of Fame at the Touchdown Club in Washington, D.C., in 1979. 

 
William Conter '34 - Football, Men's Basketball
Conter was offensive lineman on a football team that went 6-1-1 in 1932, posting one of the finest seasons in the school's history. Conter was dubbed "Truck" by his teammates for the holes he would open in the opposing team's line. He was a four-year memeber of the football team. He also participated in basketball during his junior year.

 
Gerald Gearty '44 - Football, Men's Basketball
Gearty was a four-year member of the basketball and football team. He was a co-captain of the 1935 basketball team with fellow Hall of Fame member Abe Rosenfield. Gerald and his brother Thomas Gearty combined for six touchdowns in Gerald's last home game in a 57-0 whitewashing of South Dakota. Gerald also returned a kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown against the University of Baltimore, one of four touchdowns he scored in that game. The basketball team compiled a 34-14 record during his tenure. Gearty won one game with a buzzer-beater shot against Loyola of Baltimore.

 
William Gearon '39 - Football, Boxing
Gearon was a two-sport athlete at Catholic, participating in football and boxing during his time.


Thomas J. Gearty '39 - Football, Boxing
Thomas and his brother, Gerald Gearty combined for six touchdowns in a game against South Dakota. The aerial attack centered around him. Gearty showed great promise as a light heavyweight boxer, nearly knocking out a taller and heavier Loyola competitor in his first appearance. He was a four-year member of the football team. He also participated in boxing his freshman and sophomore year.

 
Albert Rosenfield '35 – Basketball, Football
Rosenfield was co-captain of the basketball team his senior year and a force on the gridiron as well. He and co-captain Gerald Gearty hailed from the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, respectively. He was a four-year member of the basketball team. He also participated in football during his sophomore, junior and senior year.

 
Frederick Stant '39 - Football, Boxing
Stant was one of the greatest boxers ever to step between the ropes at Catholic University. He twice reached the national tournament finals, winning the 1939 national championship in the 165-pound weight class. Stant lost only two bouts in his collegiate career. He was a three-year member of the boxing team during his sophomore, junior and senior year. He also participated in football during his sophomore and junior year.
 

James Turner '40 - Boxing
Turner was a four-year member of the boxing team. Primarily fighting at the heavyweight and light heavyweight classes, Turner was one of the Big 3 of the undefeated 1940 boxing team. Had memorable victories against Villanova in 1938, where he recorded a knockdown in each round and ending the 1938 against Pitt with a second-round TKO. Turner was one of four boxers chosen to represent Catholic in the 1940 National Collegiate Boxing Tournament in Charlottesville, Va.
