William Adamaitis '37 - Football, Men's Basketball, Baseball

Adamaitis was a member of the 1936 Orange Bowl team. He played football and basketball all four-years at Catholic. He was as a two-year member of the baseball team his junior and senior year.Â

Antonavage was a steller athlete on te football team during his time at Catholic.
Richard Arnold '37 - Football, Men's Track & Field
"For four years he represented C.U. on the gridiron and for the past three years has contributed invaluable strength to the varsity line." — p. 24, 1937 Cardinal
Arnold was a four-year member of the football team. He also participated in track his junior and senior year.
Herbert Brown '37 - Men's Basketball, Baseball, Football
"(Zeke was) reared in Williamsport, Pa., prepped at Dickinson Seminary, learned his football along side Yale's Larry Kelly, and then polished off at C.U. ... With so much crucial experience behind him he should go far in the coaching field." — p. 29, 1937 Cardinal

Maurice Carroll '38 - Football, Men's Basketball, Men's Track & Field
Carroll not only played but excelled in two sports, as captain of the basketball team and a star halfback in football. Carroll was named honorable mention All-American in 1935 and 1936, was the All-District collegiate halfback in 1935 and Most Valuable Player by the Washington Football Writers' Association as a senior in 1937. Carroll was a four-year member of the football and basketball team. He also participated in track his sophomore year.

Clements was a four-year member of the football and track team. He also participated in baseball during his time at Catholic.

Peter Dranginis '37 - Football, Men's Basketball
Dranginis was a four-year member of the football and basketball team. He was a prominent member of the 1936 Orange Bowl team and also a starting guard on the basketball team. He later went on to play for Pittsburgh and Boston in the American Professional Football League.Â

Salvatore Greco '39 - Football, Boxing
The tide of many a boxing meet was turned in Catholic's favor by Greco's performance in the 155-pound weight class. Despite being plagued by injuries, Greco was a strong member of the 1936 Orange Bowl team. Greco was awarded the John J. McGann award as Catholic's outstanding boxer of 1938. He notched 20 career victories in the ring for CUA. Greco was a four-year member of the football and boxing team.

Karpowich was a stand out two-sport athlete at Catholic, particiapting in football as well as track and field.Â

Leo Katalinas '38 - Football, Boxing
Katalinas was a member of the 1936 Orange Bowl team. In his first-ever boxing match as a sophomore, defeated a Maryland boxer in the deciding match to bring Catholic to victory.

William Lajousky '36 - Football, Men's Track & Field
Lajousky was a starter on the impressive front line that helped Catholic reach the 1936 Orange Bowl. He went on to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates (later Steelers) the following season.

Robert Makofske '37 – Football
Makofske was a three-year member of the football team during his sophomore, junior and senior year. He scored the game-clinching touchdown in the 1936 Orange Bowl, putting the Cardinals up 20-7. Catholic held on to win the game, 20-19. College roommate of teammate and co-Hall of Famer George Orth.

George Mulligan '36 – Football
Mulligan was the star receiver on the 1936 Orange Bowl team, and received All-American and sectional honors as senior. His lateral to Hermie Schmarr led to the winning touchdown in the 1935 upset of Detroit University.

Munhall was a member of the 1936 Orange Bowl team, starring in later years on defense at left halfback.

George Orth '37 - Football, Boxing
Orth was a member of the 1936 Orange Bowl team. A college roommate of teammate and co-Hall of Famer Robert Makofske, Orth rose to stardom on offense as a senior end. He was a four-year member of the football team. He also particiapted in boxing his sophomore year.

Herman Schmarr '37 - Football, Men's Basketball, Baseball, Men's Track & Field
Schmarr was a true two-sport star. Captain of the football team as a senior, Schmar also led area schools in scoring on the basketball court and was named to the All-District team in each sport. Schmarr was a starter on the 1936 Orange Bowl team. Schmarr was a four-year member of the football and basketball team. He ran track his freshman and sophomore year, as well as baseball his junior and senior year.
