Catholic Completes Program's Second-Best Score at Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa..  – The Catholic men's golf team began its fall season at the Dickinson Invitational on Sunday and Monday, competing with 25 other teams over the two rounds. The Cardinals came away with a top 10 finish as a team, coming in ninth place with a team score of 590 over the two rounds. That 590 as a team score is the second-best two round total in program history, only one stroke behind the best ever two-round score in team history.

In the first round of the tournament, the Cardinals sat in a tie for 11th place after shooting a 298 as a team. Matthew Begg shined for Catholic in the round with a career-low round of 70 (-2) which put him in a tie for fifth place on the leader board. Joe Earley had the next best round on the team with a 74 (+2) to sit in a tie for 30th. The other three Catholic players were Tim Cleary (76), Julio Rodas-Rhim (78) and Jack Davenport (78). 

Catholic improved by six strokes as a team in the second round to shoot a 292 which is the fifth-best single round score in program history. Timothy Cleary put together the best round of the tournament for the Cardinals on Monday, shooting a career-best 68 (-4) to give him the best finish for the team in a tie for 13th. His 68 is tied for the fifth-best individual round in program history. 

Begg shot a 77 in the second round to finish in a tie for 32nd and Early came in just behind him with a 75 to be in a tie for 44th. Freshman Rodas-Rhim shot a 72 to improve by six strokes from the first round and Davenport shot an 82. 

The Cardinals 'B' team also competed and finished in 20th with these results:
