Davenport Places Second at Susquehanna Fall Invitational

SELINSGROVE, Pa.  –  The Catholic men's golf team returned to the course on Tuesday afternoon to compete in the Susquehanna Fall Invitational at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. The Cardinals finished the one round tournament with a team score of 304 (+24) to place in a tie for fifth out of the 15 programs that participated.

Jack Davenport continued his impressive run of play after being named the Landmark Athlete of the Week as he shot a career low score of 69 (-1) to finish in second place out of all players, three strokes away from the top spot. He finished with four birdies, including back-to-back on holes five and six while also finishing the back nine with a streak of four consecutive pars. His round of 69 is tied for the 10th best individual round in program history. 

The next finisher for the Cardinals was Emmet Kilmartin who wound up shooting a 77 in his round to finish in a tie for 26th. He began the front nine with six consecutive pars while also having a birdie on the 459-yard par five on the 17th hole. Jeremiah Brown finished one stroke above Kilmartin with a 78 where he collected a pair of birdies and poured in seven pars.

The other two Catholic athletes that competed were Timothy Doheny and Liam Bohm who shot an 80 and an 82 respectively. Each of them collected one birdie during their rounds. 

The Cardinals are back in action on Thursday, October 1 for the Stevenson Fall Invitational at Piney Branch Golf Club.
