WASHINGTON, D.C.  –  Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Steve Rahn has named Aliah McPhaul as the new Associate Head Coach of Track & Field, effective immediately.

McPhaul comes to the district after most recently serving as an assistant track and field coach at Misericordia where she worked primarily with the throwers of the program. Prior to that she was on the Misericordia staff from 2019-22 as a graduate assistant. 

During her time with the Cougars, McPhaul helped seven athletes qualify for the NCAA Championships while also having an athlete finish as a national runner-up in the women's javelin in 2023. McPhaul also coached one NCAA First Team All-American during her stint with Misericordia which was the first in program history in the women's javelin in 2021.

As a student-athlete, McPhaul competed at Belhaven University in the shot put and hammer throw and was a stand out, setting several school records and winning the NCCAA national championship in the shot put in both the indoor and outdoor season in 2018. She also earned the American Southwest Conference Field Athlete of the Year award in 2018.

McPhaul graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Belhaven before earning her MBA from Misericordia.
