TOWSON, Md.  –  Owen Allegro was named Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week after a pair of clean sheets helped Catholic improve to 6-0 on the season, it was announced today. It is the third team in the senior's career that he has earned the honor and he is the first Cardinals player to earn the award this season.

Allegro began his week by making a season-high four saves to help the Cardinals come away with a 2-0 victory over Neumann and followed up by making a pair of stops in a 1-0 win over Stockton to help the Cardinals extend their regular season streak without a defeat to 34 games. Allegro is currently fourth in the Landmark in saves with 10 this season and is second in goals against average sitting at 0.42 so far this season, which also ranks 33rd in the country.

Allegro continues to climb the career record books among Catholic goalies as he currently holds the lowest GAA in program history at 0.90. Allegro is also in the top 10 in DIII program history in shut outs (17, 3rd), saves (151, 6th) and save percentage (.733, 8th). 

The Cardinals return to the field on Wednesday, September 23 against Stevenson on the road at 4 pm.
