Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic women's tennis team hosted Elizabethtown for their first Landmark Conference meeting of the season. The Cardinals had a strong showing in the match up, shutting out the Blue Jays, 7-0. 

Catholic started the match with wins on all three doubles courts. Annie Nemoy and Carmen Valentino shut out their opponents on court one, 6-0. On court two, Cristina Moreira and Elaina Nesbitt took down their opponent, 6-1. Ava Kaloustian and Marcela Pena won on court three by walkover.

Valentino continued her standout weekend with a double bagel victory on court one as she took down Katie Balzano, 6-0,6-0. Nemoy followed on court two, defeating Taylor Dukes in the same way.

Ella Knox and Meaghan Laniewski also secured victories on courts three and four, respectively. Knox matched up against Maddie Milam, defeating her 6-1, 6-0. Laniewski faced off against Mariia Yeni, winning 6-0, 6-1.

Alyson Morris had a fierce battle on court five, taking on Julia Kiernan. Morris dropped a close set one to Kiernan, 7-5, before winning set two in dominant fashion, 6-1 to force a third set. Morris was able to pull out the win, 1-0 (10-8). Samantha D'Addezio added a point on court seven, defeating her opponent by walkover.

Next weekend, the Cardinals will send players to the ITA Tournament. Competition is set to begin on Friday, September 25.
