KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – The Catholic men's soccer team has earned a spot on the first United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll of the season, coming in at number 16, the program's highest ranking in the poll since 2022, it was announced today. This comes after the Cardinals were just outside of the rankings in the preseason poll, in the top receiving votes slot.

The Cardinals have gotten off to a high-flying start this season with a 4-0 record where they have outscored opponents 13-2 over the first four matches. Catholic currently ranks 24th in the country in goal differential and are also 25th in the country in goals per game. The Cardinals picked up a pair of 2-1 victories last week against St. Mary's (Md.) and North Carolina Wesleyan to extend their streak to 32 games without a defeat in the regular season.

So far this season, the Cardinals have 10 different goal scorers on 13 goals with Seth Michalak, Hamin Oladokun and Carson Shamoo each scoring two to be tied for the team lead. Kaleb Wilburn has made an immediate impact in his first season with a team-leading two assists and a goal early in the season. Catholic has a pair of shutouts on the season, one with Owen Allegro in goal and the other with Trevor Grice.

Catholic returns to the field on Wednesday, September 16 to take on Neumann on Carlini Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
