Catholic Finishes Eighth at Shenandoah Invitational

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.V.  – The fall season opened up for Catholic women's golf over the weekend at the Shenandoah Invitational at the Cacapon Golf Club. The Cardinals finished with a team score of 676 over the two rounds on Saturday and Sunday to finish in eighth place out of the 16 teams.

Gabi Courtney had the best finish for the Cardinals, finishing in a tie for 27th after shooting a 79 in the first round with three birdies and seven pars. She poured in seven more pars during the second round while shooting an 87.

A pair of freshmen were the next two on the leaderboard for Catholic as Ellery Talbot and Aleysha Ramos finished in a tie for 31st and a tie for 35th respectively. Talbot shot an 83 in the first round which included five pars and a birdie on the back nine, before finishing with an 85 on day two. Ramos had the best second round on the team with an 83 which included seven pars and two streaks of three consecutive pars. 

Meghan Mullen shaved three strokes off her first round score with an 85 on day two where she collected seven pars to finish in a tie 43rd.
