During the live event, the department will reveal the winners of its seven major awards. We continue to announce this year's award nominees, moving on to the Donley Cup. This prestigious award is presented to the female student-athlete who demonstrates excellence in four distinct areas over the senior's career at Catholic—academic, athletic, leadership and service.
Student-athletes are nominated for these awards by their head coach and all nominees voted upon by members of the department to decide a winner. The winners will be announced live on May 14.
The six nominees for this year's Donley Cup are
Teighan Boyle,
Grace Button,
Erin Faughnan,
Katherine Elizabeth Ma,
Anna Scoblick and
Olivia Stinchcomb.
TEIGHAN BOYLE
The four-year member and two-time team captain of the Catholic women's soccer program, Teighan Boyle hails from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Boyle played in 74 games, making 74 starts, tying her for 12th-most appearances in program history. She logged 5,973 minutes as a defender, scoring two goals. During Boyle's time at Catholic, the Cardinals had reached the Landmark Championship twice and made appearances all four years.
"She did and said a lot of amazing things during her career but one that sticks with me was during preseason when she said to the team on a particularly challenging day 'It is supposed to be hard, otherwise everyone would do it,'" said head coach Casey Sommers. "She thrived in embracing adversity and did a great job bringing the team along for the journey. She's the absolute best person!"
Off the field, Boyle boasts a 3.8 GPA and is earning her degree in Business Administration. Boyle has been named to the Dean's List in all four years at Catholic, and she is a three-time CSC Academic All-District Selection. She is a four-year Georgetown Army ROTC cadet and volunteers her time at both the MLK and Mother Teresa Days of Service.
"This year she received the Superior Cadet Award which is given to the best overall cadet in graduating class based on grades, physical fitness, and community service," said head coach Casey Sommers. "She was also given the role as Squad Leader in the fall of her sophomore year."
GRACE BUTTON
A native of Moorestown, New Jersey, Grace Button is a four-year member of the Catholic women's lacrosse team. Button has played in 69 games, starting in 58. She has picked up 118 ground balls and logged 60 caused turnovers during her time as a Cardinal. As a senior, Button led the Catholic defense, earning her a Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week honor as well as a spot on the All-Landmark First Team.
"She is an incredible teammate and despite her intensity and competitiveness on the field, is consistently one of the teammates younger players seek out," said head coach Meghan McDonogh. "She is honestly a coach and administrators dream as she is coachable and willing to step in at any capacity at a moment's notice."
Off the field, Button has a 3.79 GPA and is earning her degree in nursing. She has been named to the Landmark Academic Honor Roll twice and was a member of the CSC Academic All-District Team as a junior. Button has served as the Co-President of SAAC for two years and volunteered her time with Special Olympics DC as a committee chair.
"Her lacrosse IQ is uncanny and the intangibles that she provides our team and defense will be sorely missed next year," said McDonogh. "She has held the glue role of our defense since her sophomore year while also excelling in the nursing classroom, serving our community through her work with SAAC and in helping coordinate our various team service endeavors as well."
ERIN FAUGHNAN
A four year-member of the Catholic volleyball program, Faughnan hails from Chevy Chase, Maryland and has been a force for the Cardinals throughout her career. She played in 126 matches during her career, the 10th-most in program history, and amassed 789 kills, 269 blocks, 204 digs and 54 aces over her career. Her 269 blocks are the 10th-most in a career in program history and she also ranks third in program history in career hitting percentage at .292. Faughnan earned a spot on the All-Landmark First Team in 2025 and was a Second Team All-Landmark honoree in 2023.
"Erin Faughnan has distinguished herself as one of the most well-rounded student-athletes in the Catholic University volleyball program, demonstrating excellence across academics, athletics, leadership, and service throughout her career," said assistant coach Kristin Lough. "Beyond her accolades, Erin has exemplified leadership and character, and she has demonstrated integrity, humility, and respect for the game while positively influencing her teammates and contributing to a strong team culture."
Away from the court, Faughnan is earning her degree in Business Administration and holds a 3.55 GPA. She was a CSC Academic All-District selection during her senior year as well as a Landmark Academic Honor Roll recipient throughout her career. She also helped host and plan a local middle school clinic with the team and was a constant participant in team service and campus involvement activities.
"Erin has been a consistent and impactful performer throughout her time with the program," said Lough. "All of her accolades reflect both her high-level performance and her ability to compete at an elite level. Her growth and consistency have made her a cornerstone of the program."
KATHERINE ELIZABETH MA
A four-year member of the Catholic women's rowing team, Ma hails from Charlotte, North Carolina. During her senior season, Ma recorded the second fastest time at the Mason Invite where the Cardinals faced off against Division I opponents. Ma is a Head of Schuylkill champion and is a member of the program's first Dad Vail Champion squad. She has solidified her spot in the record books, ranking second in the 5K and third in the 2K.
"I have always been amazed by how much she's had on her plate over the years," said head coach Katie O'Driscoll. "A virtuoso cellist playing in the university symphony, a Busch School ambassador speaking on panels, excelling in internships, and this year, working almost full time at an accounting firm downtown. And still, she showed up for this team in every way possible."
In the classroom, Ma boasts a 3.8 GPA and is pursuing a degree in accounting. She is a member of a multitude of honors societies, most recently the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She is a member of Catholic University Honors, and is a two-time MARC All-Academic Team member and two-time CRCA Scholar-Athlete. Ma has been a Busch School Ambassador for all four years at Catholic and has volunteered her time with Campus Ministry.
"As a teammate, she is the confidant, and there isn't a person on this team who hasn't been on the receiving end of her support," said O'Driscoll. "Mei Mei has left an indelible mark on this program with her dedication to this team and her teammates. She is a role model for her teammates and has set the example for future Catholic University oarswomen."
ANNA SCOBLICK
Hailing from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, Scoblick is a four-year member of the Catholic women's basketball program and will graduate as one of the most decorated players in program history. She played in the 10th-most games in program history with 105 making 97 starts and totaling 1,181 points, 655 rebounds, 289 assists and 104 blocks all of which are in the top 12 in program history for a career. Scoblick became just the 22nd player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points and she is 12th on the all-time scoring list. She also collected an impressive amount of awards during her career including two All-American selections, D3hoops.com Region V Player of the Year, Landmark Conference Player of the Year, Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year, three
D3hoops.com All-Region selections and three All-Landmark First Team selections.
"What Anna has accomplished on the court is simply unequalled," said head coach Matt Donohue. "One of the fiercest and most humble competitors I have ever coached, she has led, achieved, and filled up the record books, and stat sheets like no one else in our program's history before her!"
Off the court, Scoblick is earning her degree in English and boasts a 3.7 GPA. She has been a CSC Academic All-District selection three times in her career and has been a Dean's List student throughout her four years on campus. She has also volunteered her time with several organizations including Ronald McDonald House, Washington DC Food Bank, Special Olympics, CUA WBB Ulman Cancer Fund. She has also been a part of both MLK and Mother Teresa Days of Service.
"The most reluctant superstar that I have ever coached, Anna has always found more joy and fulfillment in celebrating her teammates," said Donohue. "Their joy and happiness have always meant far more to her than any honor she's ever received. For four years, Anna has been the heart and soul of our program and the driving force behind the most successful period of women's basketball here at Catholic University."
OLIVIA STINCHCOMB
Hailing from Herndon, Virginia, Stinchcomb is a four-year member of the Catholic softball team . Stinchcomb has played in 122 games during her time as a Cardinal, making 103 starts. She has scored 59 runs, logged 115 hits, and 78 RBI. Stinchcomb has etched her name in the record books throughout her career, currently sitting tied for fifth in single-season RBI with 39, tied for ninth in single-season home runs with five, and tied for second for most doubles in a season with 14. She is a two-time All-Landmark Second Team selection, earning the honor in 2023 and 2026.
"Olivia demonstrates exceptional leadership both on and off the field," said head coach Sophie Maccarone. "She is a team captain where she designs and leads captain-led practices, assists coaches with team organization and fundraising, and promotes a culture of respect, integrity, and winning. She is also a Youth Sports Mentor where she serves as a pitching and hitting instructor, developing customized training plans and mentoring young athletes in leadership, discipline, and confidence."
Off the field, Stinchcomb holds a 3.60 GPA and is earning her degree in Criminology. She has been named to the Dean's List all four years at Catholic and landed a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team during her junior season. Stinchcomb has dedicated her time preparing and serving meals as a Community Meal Service volunteer and coaching young athletes in the DC community at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy. She has also participated in the MLK and Mother Teresa Days of Service throughout her years as a Cardinal.
"Olivia doesn't just excel in these four areas independently; she integrates them into a cohesive commitment to excellence that positively impacts her team, university, and the broader Washington, DC community," said Maccarone. "Her journey from Division I athletics to becoming a record-setting Cardinal, all while maintaining academic excellence and dedicating countless hours to service, makes her an exemplary candidate for the Donley Cup."
