Cardinals Secure Six All-Landmark Selections

| By:
TOWSON, Md. – The Catholic softball team earned six Cardinals on the All-Conference squad, it was announced today.

Aubrynn Arcement tops the list as first team pitching selection, her second time earning First Team honors. The senior boasts the fifth most innings pitched (89.0) in the conference while holding the best opposing batting average at .214. Arcement also holds a 1.93 ERA leading the Cardinals and the fourth best in the Landmark. This is the current program's seventh best ERA. After the regular season, she tallied 10 wins, which is her third consecutive season with double digits in that category.

For the fourth consecutive season, Katie Scolese has received an All-Conference nod. This is the first season that the senior has earned first team honors. Batting .344 (45-for-131), the senior broke the single-season doubles record (16), while also being one long ball away from the program single- season home run record after sending 10 over the wall this spring. This power helped Scolese maintain the conference's second best slugging percentage (.710) and the fourth-highest OPS (1.086). Scolese's big bat helped send in 39 RBIs on 45 hits, which allowed her to top the conference RBI list with her teammate Olivia Stinchcomb. The pair is also tied in fifth for the most single season RBIs in program history.

Teammate Stinchcomb also made the All-Conference list with a second team outfield selection, the 2nd second team nod of her career. With a team best ,and conference fifth most, 46 hits so far this season, the senior has tallied 11 doubles, 2 triples, and 5 home runs. Stinchcomb has the seventh most doubles and third most home runs in the Landmark.

Sophomore Emma Fleming earned her first All-Conference honor with a first team second base recognition. Fleming has made a name for herself with a late season, impressive offensive showing, currently holding a 12 game hit streak. Continuously, the sophomore hit a team best and conference eighth best .386 (39-for-101).

The Cardinals earned two Honorable Mentions, their starting corners Kerri Hatcliffe and Katie McHugh. The pair lead the Landmark with 21 walks each and are tied for seventh in the program single season record books. Hatcliffe leads the conference with 303 putouts, proving to be a reliable first baseman with a .997 fielding percentage. In addition to being a pillar on the field, Hatcliffe chalked up a .308 batting average with five doubles and 14 RBIs. Hatcliffe also knows how to take one for her team, leading the conference with nine hit-by-pitches. With this, the senior has the fourth highest on base percentage in the Landmark, .472.This is the first all-conference honor for the senior. Junior McHugh boasts multiple conference offensive leaderboard positions. She is thirteenth in both slugging (.543) and on base percentage (.432), bumping up to eleventh on the list for on base + slugging (.975). McHugh also smacked eight doubles, four triples, and three homers out of 38 hits. This is the second all-conference honor for the junior, earning second team honors last season.

Stinchcomb, Scolese, and McHugh were also the only three Cardinals to start and play in all 40 regular season games.

This is the second consecutive year that Catholic has had three first team selections, tying the most in program history. Catholic has been represented on this list since the formation of the Landmark in 2008.

The Cardinals start their postseason campaign on Friday, May 8th in the Landmark Conference tournament against third-seeded Drew. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m. in Bethlehem, Pa. at the Blue & Grey Softball Field.
