TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic women's track and field team had 10 athletes receive All-Conference honors at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships this past weekend. The Cardinals finished third in the meet with 125 points.
Kortney Clipper led the squad, receiving three All-Conference nods at the event. Clipper took second in both the 100m and 200m events, earning her first individual honors of her career. She broke the venue record in the 100m with a time of 12.38 and finished in 25.39 in the 200m. Clipper also competed in the 4x100m relay alongside teammates
Erin Buckley, Ainsley Reisman, and
Sarah Schumacher. The crew captured the gold in the event, clocking a time of 48.08.
Olivia Sobkowicz continued her stellar debut season, taking home a bronze and a silver at the championships. Sobkowicz broke the meet and venue record in the 10,000m with a time of 37:10.70. Sobkowicz had another podium finish in the 5,000m, placing third in 17:51.44.
Laurel McMahon took third in the 10,000m, finishing immediately after Sobkowicz with a time of 37:10.7, giving her a Honorable Mention nod.
Mia McConnell and
Mya Sampong both received All-Conference recognition at the conference championships. McConnell took second in the 400m Hurdles, clocking a time of 1:03.52 to secure a spot on the second team. Sampong finished third in the 800m in 2:17.35 to earn an Honorable Mention.
The Cardinals took the top-spot in two relay events over the weekend, giving Clipper, Buckley, Reisman, Schumacher, McConnell,
Brigid Byrnes,
Zoey Brown, and Sampong a First Team recognition.
