TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic men's track and field team had 12 athletes receive All-Conference honors at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships this past weekend. The Cardinals finished third in the meet with 164 points.
Freshman Michael Brunet headlined the honorees with two individual nods, placing second in the 1,500m and 5,000m. In the 1,500m, he clocked a time of 3:54.81, and in the 5,000m he finished in 15:03.53. Brunet was previously named Rookie of the Year in both Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field.
Peter Winter and Kendrick DuPree both had podium finishes in the 800m. Winter took first in the event, clocking a time of 1:53.18. DuPree followed, finishing third in 1:56.82, earning him an Honorable Mention recognition for the event. The two also received a First Team honor in the 4x400 Relay where they competed alongside Sean Owens and Emmanuel Olarewaju, taking the gold in 3:19.45.
In field events, Christian Di Nicolantonio, Quinn Brubaker and Nathan Chaney each had top-three finishes to earn individual honors. Di Nicolantonio earned a First Team nod in the Pole Vault, going 4.55m. Brubaker received an Honorable Mention in the High Jump, placing third in 1.83m. Chaney also received an Honorable Mention honor in the Triple Jump, placing third in 13.36m.
Calvin Hernandez, Romell Randolph, Tim Brown, Joey Locke and Olarewaju all received individual honors during the meet. Olarewaju placed second in the 400m Hurdles while Hernandez took the silver in the 100m. Brown, Locke, and Randolph each received Honorable Mentions in their events, Brown in the steeple chase, Locke in the 10,000m, and Randolph in the 200m.
